Secure Development Training for AAT
Challenge
Following an external audit, the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) identified a need to strengthen their secure development processes to align with ISO27001 standards. The audit highlighted the importance of documenting secure development practices to ensure compliance and provide clear evidence for future audits.
Solution
As AAT’s strategic technology partner, PSP developed and hosted a secure development training course tailored to their team of developers. The training focused on the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) framework, emphasising the identification and management of security risks throughout the development lifecycle. The course provided developers with a deeper understanding of risk factors and proactive strategies to mitigate them, empowering the team to implement secure coding practices with confidence.
Conclusion
PSP’s secure development training enabled AAT to strengthen their secure development processes in line with ISO27001 requirements. The training expanded the developers’ knowledge of security risks and best practices, giving AAT the tools to document and demonstrate their secure development approach. This proactive strategy not only supports ISO27001 compliance but also fosters a robust security culture within the development team, positioning AAT for continued compliance and resilience in future audits.
