Do you need someone to analyse your business's situation and optimise your business model?
The role of a Business Analyst is to:
- Improve your systems and processes.
- Oversee change- keeping you up to date with project progress constantly.
- Help support your business decisions with our wealth of experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Read on below to find out more about how we can help improve your operations.
What Does a BA Do?
Business Analysts here at PSP are vital to everyday operations. They do things such as:
- Gathering Requirements from clients
- Drawing up specifications
- Looking at overall process flows
- Writing user stories to give developers an idea of how to implement a feature on a piece of software.
Analysing Business Processes
By understanding the scope of what they’re doing, they can then speak to the relevant stakeholders and see how the future needs to look for you.
BA Manager Colin says, ”It’s about putting a box around what it is, identifying who you need to speak to, when you need to speak to them, and what you need to speak to them about”.
After this, typically a BA “maps out what the processes look like today, and how they need to look tomorrow”.
Implementing The Change
The BA would then:
- Deliver user stories to developers
- Take requirements for the future state
- Write the requirements into user storage formats so the development team knows what the solution should do
Safeguards Business
We work with clients regularly throughout the process so they know what we’re building and have transparency with project updates. We check in with clients to give reassurance and instil confidence.
At PSP, our BAs have a plethora of knowledge stemming across sectors such as:
- Aerospace
- Education
- Not-For-Profits
- Membership and Qualification
- Horticultural
This means we can offer you multiple different ideas to find a better fit for your business.
What Are We Focusing On Now?
Our BA Manager Colin is focusing on addressing technical debt and working for a client whose system is coming to its end-of-life stage. This involves:
- Looking at various parts of the website (typically logged-in parts where it is written in old design language)
- Doing Technical updates
- Gathering information to improve the process.
