Overview 

Greeen+, a leader in environmentally sustainable products, partnered with PSP to streamline workforce planning and improve operational efficiency. Facing the challenge of complex production schedules and a highly dynamic workforce, Greeen+ sought a rapid, cost-effective solution that would automate their planning processes, ensuring smoother operations and resource allocation. PSP implemented a tailored workforce planning system designed to manage Greeen+’s production needs, reduce manual work and enhance data accuracy. 

Challenge

Greeen+ operated an entirely manual approach to resource planning, relying on unstructured data from multiple sources, which slowed production and increased error rates. Additionally, Greeen+ lacked a visual tool for real-time scheduling, limiting their ability to adjust production and workforce allocation quickly. The company turned to PSP to provide a structured, automated system that would address these challenges while supporting scalability and transparency. 

Solution

PSP IT engaged with Greeen+’s planning and operations team to fully understand their workforce planning requirements. The project was designed to deliver an efficient, custom-built solution that could be developed rapidly and implemented at a low cost. To begin with, We developed a custom import tool that could read the unstructured data from various sources, extracting key fields and values to organize them into a structured order table. This step allowed Greeen+ to transform previously unusable data into actionable insights, laying the groundwork for automation. 

To ensure consistency, PSP IT created a set of standard data tables that captured essential item and customer data. These tables were designed to integrate directly with Greeen+’s planning processes, enhancing accuracy and reducing the risk of manual errors in order handling. PSP IT worked closely with Greeen+ to replicate the unique logic their team used in planning. We integrated these rules directly into the system, allowing it to automatically calculate production rates and times. This automation step was critical in improving efficiency and allowed Greeen+ to handle a higher volume of orders with precision. 

To enable easy visualization of production lines and product progress, we developed a custom Gantt chart feature within the system. This tool provided the Greeen+ team with a clear, real-time view of their workforce allocation and production timelines, enabling faster adjustments and better resource management. PSP IT implemented an end-to-end solution that extended from order intake to shipping. Once the data was processed, the system generated picking and dispatch sheets, streamlining Greeen+’s order fulfillment and ensuring all steps, from receipt to dispatch, were covered in a single automated workflow.

The automation of planning and scheduling reduced the time required to manage production lines and workforce allocation, significantly improving efficiency. Standardised data tables and automated data imports have minimised human error, ensuring accuracy in planning and order handling.
